The fourth Business Beyond Borders (BBB) matchmaking event took place on 20-21 October 2017 at HOSTMilano. During these two days, participants from all over the world had the opportunity meet potential partners and negotiate new business opportunities in the food, tourism and hospitality industry.
BBB keeps on providing a valuable matchmaking service, offering its participants more than just a regular B2B meeting session. During the BBB International Conference in Milano, selected experts provided valuable insight on internationalisation processes, with a particular focus on Canada. Participants were able to find out more about the overseas export and import market, what makes for a perfect export business contract, and hear about good practices on international business.

The Business Beyond Borders event at HOSTMilano, which gathered more than 240 companies from 53 different countries, coincided with the trade fair’s 40th edition. Overall, HOSTMilano’s 2017 edition attracted more than 180.000 visitors from 177 different countries.

The BBB event at HOSTMilano was praised by the participants, many of which were able to agree to international business deals on the spot. Coming from Poland, Kacper Bednarczyk, Export Manager at Weindich, stated that he would recommend the BBB to SMEs that are seeking to go international: “You can get much more from actual conversation with people. I believe this is something worthwhile, with very good and efficient organisers”.
Keeping up with previous prevents, there was also time for the BBB Social Media Competition (know more about our previous winners FinnZa (African Utility Week) and Billoomi Fashion (Texworld Paris)). By constantly tweeting and sharing their experience about their matchmaking meetings using the #EUBBB hashtag on Twitter, Association for Assistance of SMEs – United Business Clubs, a Bulgarian company focusing on hospitality and tourism, earned its place in BBB history.
