Water was one of the key subjects in the latest Business Beyond Borders even, which took place at African Utility Week. Access to clean drinking water is a pressing issue in the African continent, as well as in most developing countries. Folia Water is in the market to help overcome the hardships regarding access to drinking water.
Mark Williams, Folia Water’s representative at the BBB event, made a live demonstration of the company’s filtration technology during the BBB Demo Zone and listed the vast opportunities that it encompasses. Williams says that his company has a focus on accessibility: “The African market has about 300 million people without access to clean drinking water”.
In order to mitigate the limited access to clean water, and resorting to technology and innovation, the company has created an affordable product that can guarantee the supply of litres of water for an entire family, no matter the infrastructure at their disposal.
Williams states that he registered for the BBB event at AUW2017 so that he could “meet with like-minded people working in the water business, to set a network, find collaborators, investors and potential customers for the product”.
“Business Beyond Borders provides the access and facilitation for meetings to take place in a very professional manner.”, recounts Williams. “It went very well, I had several meetings with interesting people and hopefully it will grow from there”. To anyone considering joining one of the next BBB events, this is what Mark Williams has to say: “Go for it!”
