The biggest success indicator of any Business Beyond Borders event is the amount and quality of its participants, and how much they have benefited from the matchmaking sessions. We are proud to say that Texworld Paris was no exception, having fostered hundreds of meetings between EU and international SMEs in the textile and clothing sector.
On this occasion, and in this new BBB Participant Profile article, we present the matchmaking meeting star of Texworld Paris 2017, Diana Svensson, founder of Peek-a-Poo, who had more than 40 meetings in two days.
Peek-a-Poo started from a personal perspective – and a mother’s one at that. Unhappy with available garments in the market, Diana designed and manufactured clothing items for her child. Soon after, people’s interest in the quality and design of her creations led her to create her own brand. Next thing Diana knew, she was receiving an unsurmountable amount of orders – expanding the business was now very much in order.
After three days of non-stop matchmaking meetings, Diana has definitely opened the door for new business partnerships in different parts of the world. Even before wrapping up her Texworld Paris experience, she had already been invited by BBB participants to India and Nepal to pursue partnerships and business opportunities. “I would definitely recommend Business Beyond Borders to other SMEs seeking to internationalise. It couldn’t be better than this. You meet everyone from your industry in a good environment”, said Diana at the end of our three-day event in Paris.
Diana Svensson is an example of entrepreneurship and get-it-done attitude. Along with other BBB participants, her experience at the BBB-Texworld event shows how matchmaking and internationalisation can be an added value to European SMEs.
